The list
Thing you do when you're bored: you count which airports I've flown through. Without a doubt, there's a best of to this list: Hong Kong, without a doubt. Efficient beyond belief, great food offering, and big enough where major-leaguers could play catch, literally, without bothering anyone.
The worst? A tough call. The old Midway was pretty feeble if you had to spend more than 15 minutes in it. But Doha probably takes it for worst airport, and the scary thing is it's just undergone renovations. It reminds you of a tiny county airport, only with 12 gates. The food court is on par with most high schools in the states. (Who has an A&W Root Beer but doesn't sell root beer? Oh yeah, crazy religious people who think it's beer and the man in the sky told them not to drink it!) Combine this with a rows of seats with welded in arm rests - which keep you from lying down and grabbing a nap, despite that most flights there land in the middle of the night and require 4-8 hour layovers - and it's one place you don't want to spend a lot of time in.
