Missing the point
Standing in line at City Super, one of the upscale grocery stores here that carry a plethora of western food, including a) the coffee I favor at a cheap(ish) price and b) occasional Mexican sundries. And then an announcement comes on to "Please help the environment and not use a plastic bag" if you can.
Because, really, that will help the environment a lot more than sayyyyyyyyyy, not shipping food from Europe, the US, Canada and New Zealand and Australia. Because that is better for the environment than not shipping brie from three different continents to sell in one store.
It's kinda like yelling at an army for US lead bullets during a war, because that lead might eventually get in the groundwater.
That said, I did put my coffee in my backpack, sans bag. The coffee that was shipped over from Italy, of course.
